Find a practice and get in touch

You don’t need an account. Search nearby practices, read a listing, then Make an enquiry. We don’t put phone numbers on profiles. The practice (or our bookings team) gets back to you.

Step 1

Search from the home page

Open comparethedentists.com. Type a town or postcode and click Search. That’s it for this step. If you’d rather start with a treatment instead of a specific practice, use Free consultation at the top of the site.

Step 2

Browse the results

You’ll see practices near that area on the left, and a map on the right. Filters sit above the list — tap Show if you want to narrow by treatment or distance. Tap a card to open the full profile — there are no extra buttons on the cards.

Step 3

Read the practice profile

Photos, a short about section, treatments, prices if they’ve added them, opening hours, and ratings all sit on this page. There’s no public phone number. When you’re ready, click Make an enquiry. That’s how patients get in touch.

Step 4

Send an enquiry

Fill in first name, last name, email, and the treatment you’re interested in. Mobile number is optional but helpful. Click Make an enquiry. You’ll get a confirmation on screen and a copy by email.

What happens after you send it

  1. Check your inbox for the confirmation email.
  2. Someone should be in touch within 48 hours. It’s free, and you’re not signing up to treatment.
  3. Tell them what you’re looking for. They can talk you through next steps.

Some practices are Verified Space Partners. For those, our bookings team handles the first contact instead of the practice inbox. You won’t notice much difference. Someone still gets back to you.

Free online consultation

If you don’t have a practice in mind yet, use Free consultation in the header (or the bar at the bottom on a phone). Pick a treatment (aligners, bonding, veneers, implants, and so on). We’ll take it from there. Already have a written plan? Upload a treatment plan instead and nearby practices can quote.

For dentists

Claim, tidy the listing, answer patients

This is the practice dashboard on a computer. The menu is on the left. Photos, prices, the about text, enquiries, and the website link all live here.

Step 1

Sign in and claim your practice

Open Dentist Sign up / Sign in or Claim your practice in the footer. Create an account or sign in with email and password. Search for your listing and follow the claim steps. You can work on the profile while we check the claim. That check is usually done within one working day.

Where things sit

  • Left menu: Dashboard, Enquiries, Messages, Treatments & pricing, Photos, Practice details, Premium, Reviews.
  • Switch practices at the bottom of that menu if you look after more than one site.
  • Messages is for updates from us (your claim, and so on). Patient questions sit under Enquiries.

Step 2

Update photos, prices, and details

Photos: up to six pictures. The first one is the cover patients see in search. Once you upload your own, they replace the Google Maps photos on your listing. Treatments & pricing: turn on what you offer and add from/to prices. Practice details: write the short description patients read, and keep opening hours right. We don’t publish your phone number, website, or full street address on the public profile. Patients reach you by making an enquiry.

Step 3

Handle enquiries

When a patient makes an enquiry, they appear under Enquiries. Contact them within 48 hours. Use Call or Email, then Mark as contacted. If the window closes, the contact details are hidden. Enquiries that arrived before you claimed the listing show as handled by Compare The Dentist. You can still read them, but you can’t action those older ones.

Verified Space Partners

If your practice is a Verified Space Partner, new patient questions go to our bookings team. You don’t need to work through them in Enquiries. Everyone else should treat the 48-hour window as the rule.

Step 4

Add a link from your website

A clickable link to Compare The Dentist on your practice site is how we confirm you’re ready for Premium and better placement in search. A badge picture with no link around it will not pass. Open Add a link from your dashboard. You can do it yourself in WordPress (about 10 minutes), forward an IT pack to your web person, or ask us to help.

The bit people miss

The badge has to be a real link. After you publish, open your live homepage, find the badge, and click it. It should open Compare The Dentist, not just show a picture. A unique address with ?ref= is better for tracking, but a plain link to comparethedentists.com is enough for the check.

Stuck?

Email support@comparethedentists.com and we’ll talk you through it. Dentists can also use Contact us on the Add a link page if they’d like a call about the website badge.
